Surreal sketches

Surreal sketches done for life drawing assignment. The thought was to draw animals out of objects I could find around me or came up with. So you'll see various stuff like a kitten-mug, spider-iPhone and football-turtle.

Morphy takes a leap

Another animation done on a pre-constructed rig.
His name is Morphy, and the task here was to animate him walking from pillar to pillar to reach
his destination, taking in mind the render cam's fixed position.
I struggled hard with this one, because the joints would do something crazy between keyframe that would take ages to fix. In the end I had to delete half the animation, but then the leg animation for Morphy's left leg went completly nuts and wouldn't function properly. That is why his left leg will move a bit weird, because of my very hard try at making it consistent on every keyframe and avoiding to animate the whole thing all over again.
Maya is not entirely reliable.

Taking Burt for a walk

3D animation of a pre-rigged character, Burt95. Excercise here was to keyframe its walking cycle
on Maya. I took several takes from different angles to show how its feet moves and its face reacts.

Lip sync exercise

This was a excercise on Flash, to use a certain soundclip, create a charatcer and make the lips
move in sync with the clip. Very basic stuff, but it was fun to work on.

Sketches

These sketches we're made as an assignment to the Life Drawing sessions.

Let's start with the Toy Story assignment.
Here we had to make a story based around a selected toy. I chose a toy car.

Next one is drawing real people. Nothing special.

Here I had to make drawings based on out-dated styles.
So I chose Art Deco, Art Noveau and Dragestil, in that order.

Last one is sketches of various animal skulls that are on display at the campus library.

Squishy ball animation

New animation assignment using Maya.
A ball would be interacting with objects as it motions towards somewhere.
So I made a "throne" for the ball to stand on, and have it bounce down the stairs, until it
"leaps" up in the air and lands on a pillar.
