Glowing piece of wood


Something quick that I forgot to do an update on.
I was experimenting on how to make glowing embers for the Chicken Fox project, but had problems making it glow using shaders in Maya, so it ended up with some simple fractal shaders on top of wood textures that was blended with a lamber shader.

WIP Space Cockpit

This is a very rough modelling of the inside of a spaceship cockpit.
I had some more new ideas for my final third-year project, and I wanted to develop my modelling skills
for what might be one of the sets in my planned short film animation.

Red or Dead - Contributions

These are the CG models I have done for the Red or Dead commercial.
The process has been very educational on how to work on Autodesk Maya with as much efficiency and precision as possible to meet up with the project's demands.

 This is one of the early models I did for the project, but I decided to not include it.
So it was left unfinished, but I did base this on a old photo of a actual soviet building.
 I was asked to do some quirky buildings that would stand out in the background,
so I did a twin tower in glass that would really stand out.
 This is a minor model I did that is just to be put on top of buildings as a added detail.
 A simple skyscraper that would be in the background, using a polygon cube and then molding it.
 Same process as the other skyscraper, but this one has complete glass surroundings, making it look more
fragile and maybe even more business like.
 A additional skyscraper, but this one has a dome top, by request.


These are some quick sketches I did in Illustrator to help the 2D artists with they're work of drawing and animating some of the non-3D vehicles in the film.
This suspension bridge has probably been my most difficult modelling project, as I haven't made anything this big before with so much details.
I did a lot of copy and paste to help make the process quicker, with the downside being that I had to fix a lot of things as I went along.

WIP Helicopter

Decided suddenly to model a helicopter of my own random design.
This is just a rough modeling I've done so far within an hour.
If I get time I'll probably model the inside as well with control panels and seats.

WIP Groggy Sunshine

I was actually just testing out how to make a fluid effect behave like a candle light and making it illuminate a desk and a person, but then I decided to add more and more into the room. After a while I decided to make a 1-2 minute long short about a guy struggling with homework and wanting to go out to play.

It's easy to forget...

This is a Bandit rig I picked up on http://animationbuffet.blogspot.co.uk/. It is based on the bandits in the Borderlands games. I just did a very quick animation to test out the rig, and it seems sometimes you can forget which finger to use...

Suspension Bridge

First modelling something as detailed as this. The Red or Dead projected needed a suspension bridge to be in the background of the ultimately complete city.
